Welcome back to another addition of Kicking It with Kickstarter!  Every week, we go through Kickstarter and highlight fun projects that are looking for your support.  We are so fortunate to have multiple ways of developing games, which will allow more creative developers to bring their projects to life.  I hope you enjoy checking out these projects as much as I do!  Let’s get started and check out this week’s projects –

Dawn of the Devs

Are you a fan of 2D puzzle platformers?  Have you ever wanted to play as some of your favorite game developers?  Dawn of the Devs, from Underdog Studios, has created a great throwback game featuring 3 game developers who are sucked into an alternate world filled with negative aspects that you typically see in the gaming industry.  Using special abilities, you fight against such horrid gaming monstrosities like Meta Critics, Trolls, Twitbirds, and Copyrates.  If you are not a fan of 2D puzzle platformers, then you should at least support this project and have the opportunity to wipe out trolls to your heart’s content.  This project looks like a blast and needs your support.  Dawn of the Devs has 15 days left on Kickstarter.  Click HERE for more info!

Voyage of Fortune’s Star – a 7th Sea cRPG

If you are fans of John Wick’s 7th Sea tabletop game, then this game should really interest you.  Based on the series, Voyage of Fortune’s Star is a pirate adventure with Diablo-style point and click gameplay.  You explore the continent of Théah on the Fortune’s Star and take part in an adventure filled with conspiracies and danger.  It looks like there will be 10+ hours of story in this game, with many places to explore and enemies to conquer.  According to the specs, you will not need a meaty PC in order to play this game, which in my mind is a positive aspect.  If you want to see more information about this pirate adventure, click HERE.  The project has 32 days left!

Griff the Winged Lion

We are big fans of games like Crash Bandicoot and Spyro, so this project sound very promising.  Griff the Winged Lion is inspired by those types of 3D platforming adventure games.  Griff is a young prince who’s destiny is shrouded in mystery.  You control Griff through various realms as he searches for answers.  It looks like the game will have lots of creatures and things to collect.  There will be mini games as well.  I like the character renderings and artwork a lot, and I am encouraged by what the team has planned for this game.  If you want to see more info, click HERE.  This project has 16 days left!
