There is an interesting development involving Metroid Prime 4.  Early this morning, Nintendo released a video with Shinya Takahashi, their Senior Managing Executive Officer.  He announced that, in essence, Metroid Prime 4 is being rebooted, with Retro Studios taking over active development.  Check out the announcement below –

I’ll be honest when I say that I hate delays.  But at the same time, I would rather see a game delayed than have a game released in a poor or unrefined state.  The question remains as to how long the delay will last.  How much of the game needs to be redeveloped?  Did Retro Studios just start?  Or have they been on the project for a while and Nintendo decided to announce the change now?  My educated guess is we won’t see Metroid Prime 4 at E3 this year, but maybe our first glimpse will be the end of the year during a Nintendo Direct.

I’m still hyped for Metroid Prime 4 and hope this change will give us a game that everyone is proud of.  What are your thoughts on the delay?  Let us know in the comments!
