E3 Journal – Day 4
Ah, South Hall. I found my home. Yesterday was filled with visits to the insane Nintendo and Xbox booths. Today, I had several appointments in and around South Hall. It is incredible how the feel of the halls are a little different. South Hall has it’s fill of huge booths for 2K, Ubisoft, WB Games, Square Enix, Capcom, and Bethesda. However, it feels a little less crowded than West Hall. It appears that South hall has more room, which made me very happy.
I had the chance to visit a lot of booths and talked with many companies. I experienced something that I didn’t experience the day before – theatrical presentations. At several booths, we were ushered into a theater to watch a presentation instead of trying a demo. I can understand why this would happen, but it still was a little disappointing. You basically wait in line for 2 hours to watch a movie. The positive side is you get to see a beautiful presentation that shows you more than a demo will.
After my full day at E3, I headed to the E3 Live event. It was held at L.A live next to the MixArcade concert. I got to hear one of my favorite rap artists while checking out booths and seeing a few VR demonstrations.
The big winner of the day? PADDED CARPET AT BOOTHS!!! Oh it was like walking on pillows. Shout out to WB Games and Xbox, along with a few others, for providing padded areas to walk on. Tomorrow will be my final day of demos and interviews. It will be a bitter sweet day.
